Unlocking potential
Not everyone has the job they were born to do. Aptitude testing helps the user by providing objective information about themselves and offering a specific customised list of potential careers.
There are too many career options to explore in a meaningful way. Aptitude testing offers an effective way of reducing the thousands of possible occupations to a short list of high-quality choices.
Research has been carried out for more than 80 years in the area of career suitability and three factors have been identified that underpin modern aptitude testing:
- There are a set number of basic job talents, which can be measured independently of job experience. These are in place at puberty and remain constant throughout a person’s working life
- Each career relies on some combination of aptitudes. Research has identified these aptitude patterns and which combinations fit specific careers
- Individuals who pursue careers that match their strongest aptitudes report above average success. While studies of working adults often find more than 50% are unhappy in their careers, a majority of people who have used a comprehensive aptitude testing programme find them “helpful,” or “very helpful.”
